Corella Management Project
Coordinated and strategic management of corellas in the Wheatbelt. In partnership with CBH, and AROC (Avon Region of Councils: Shires of Victoria Plains, Goomalling, Toodyay, Northam and York), Wheatbelt NRM employs a corella coordinator to work with stakeholders to work out how to best manage the impact of corellas in this part of the Wheatbelt. Long term methods of managing the birds will be developed along with shorter term methods such as culling. Shires have been interviewed for information on the 2023/24 social, economic and environmental impacts of corellas, and a management plan is being formulated.
