2017 Bush Tucker Calendar

Posted in:
Aboriginal NRM

We are excited to announce that the theme for this year’s 2017 calendar is Aboriginal Bush Tucker! The calendar showcases twelve bush tucker plant species that were traditionally used by Ballardong Noongar people in the Wheatbelt region. Pictured is the Blood Root, which the Ballardong Noongar people call  Kwordiny. It is an edible bulb that tastes sweet when roasted. The calendar is being designed by Judd Stead our Noongar Boodjar Carer Trainee and features quality photos throughout. It will be posted to all members of the Aboriginal Elders Advisory Group and Wheatbelt NRM out this December - so keep an eye on your letterbox!
