Two lucky landcarers from the Wheatbelt region have the opportunity to attend the National Landcare Conference and Awards in Melbourne this year, thanks to our Regional Landcare Facilitator and the Australian Government’s National Landcare Programme.
What: 2016 National Landcare Conference and Awards
When: 21-23 September 2016
Where: Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre
The National Landcare Conference is a fabulous opportunity for Landcarers across the country to come together and learn from one another. It is also a chance to discuss building a resilient agricultural and environmental future for Australia.
This year’s theme is ‘Collaborative Communities – Landcare in Action’, with keynote speeches from regenerative landscape management advocate Major General Michael Jeffery and Don Bourke from Burke’s Backyard.
What’s on offer?
Wheatbelt NRM is offering funding of $1000 to be used towards the following:
registration fees for the 2016 National Landcare Conference
travel to the event in Melbourne, and/or accommodation
pre and post conference field days.
Selection criteria
subsidy is open to two individuals
applicants must be from and currently in the Avon River Basin, WA
individual must be prepared to cover related costs that exceed the $1000 subsidy.
What’s expected?
Wheatbelt NRM requests in return a brief written report of the participant’s key learnings from the conference along with photographs of the event. These will be used by Wheatbelt NRM in future promotional publications.
