A Time for Everything

With all the lovely rain this Djilba season (Aug -Sept) the Rangers have been hard at work keeping the Northam cemetery grounds under control. Spraying opportunities have been limited, which means whipper snipping and mowing have been the main methods of keeping the area looking tidy. Additionally, work on other projects outdoors such as with Main Roads have also been held up.

However, with all the rain, it has meant we have found time for some office activities such as renewing seed collecting licences and updating the records of professional development that each Ranger has done. It was also a time to plan projects for the warmer months.

During this planning, the team identified a specific project that would not only be rewarding but give back to the community as well. We’d love to work on renewing gardens at the Northam Cemetery. This is a process that takes time, planning and of course funds. But our Rangers and the Northam Shire are committed to working together to see what we can do.

The cemetery is a place of great importance to all of us – Rangers, Shire and Community, as most of us have loved ones memorialised there. So, it won’t happen overnight but watch this space!
