Noongar Boodja Rangers – an asset supporting community action

Last week the Noongar Boodja Rangers again proved themselves to be an asset to the Wheatbelt community by helping the Friends of the Dale River tackle cape tulip as the group started preparations for next years revegetation project.

The Friends of the Dale had received a small grant to carry out the revegetation work but as with many groups they struggled to find the time to complete the site spraying themselves.

They contracted the Noongar Boodja Rangers to help and the team spent half a day completing the work for them.

The Ranger team is not only Chem Cert trained, they have the necessary equipment to complete the work quickly and efficiently.

The team can jump into action within a day or two to undertake a range of different activities including spraying, tree planting, site preparation and maintenance.

And as Wheatbelt NRM’s Jermaine Davis said “The team love the opportunity to get out on country to help the community look after Noongar Boodja. Its important work and they gain great satisfaction in doing their bit to make a difference.”
