Future Drought Fund starting to take shape

Posted in:
Sustainable Agriculture

The Future Drought Fund was established in September 2019 by the Australian Government. The $5 billion program provides secure, continuous funding for drought resilience initiatives. It will help Australian farms and communities prepare for the impacts of drought.

The first round of programs was recently announced with $100 million made available across a range of initiatives.

We were excited to see several initiatives directly targeting Natural Resource Management and will be investigating how our community can benefit from this program.

Our Regional Agriculture Landcare Facilitator Jacquie Lucas will be working to build partnerships to enable our Wheatbelt community to be part of this opportunity so if you are keen to contact her at jlucas@wheatbeltnrm.org.au

Also, watch this space and we will make sure we keep you up to date as more information becomes available.

Subscribe to our e-newsletter and keep up to date on current events, partnership opportunities and NRM in the Wheatbelt.
