Welcomes and Goodbyes at Annual General Meeting

Community Engagement

More than 50 people attended our Annual General Meeting on 21 October at Bridgeley Community Centre in Northam.

We celebrated the end of our 2018-2021 3 Year plan and touched upon our plans for a more sustainable future.

We farewelled long-time Board members, Jan Trenorden and Chris Wyhoon. Both have been part of the Board for more than six years. In their departing messages, both Jan and Chris expressed their pride at being involved with Wheatbelt NRM and said that they had gained more from their service than they had given. We wish them both well for the future.

Chairperson, Debra Rule, was successfully reappointed to the Board along with two new members, Ivan Rogers and Erika Techera.

Ivan Rogers is the current CFO of Roger Group, a large agricultural group, and has been the Principal in a number of successful agricultural start-ups. He has served on a number of agricultural boards including being the former Chair of WA Lot Feeders Association. The Rogers family is very well connected in the Tammin district.

Erika Techera is a Professor at UWA Law School and a former Director of Oceans Institute, UWA. She is a qualified Barrister and graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors. She teaches on law, policy and governance and has published numerous articles on environmental law and governance. Erika lives on a 240-acre property in Mokine.

We warmly welcome both Erika and Ivan and look forward to working with them over the next three years.
