Nominations for the 2021 Moorditj Boodjar Environmental Awards are now open.

The awards recognise Wheatbelt school students who embody the values of Mooditj Boodjar (Strong Country) through their involvement in environmental projects. The annual award is designed to encourage young people to become actively involved in landcare or natural resource management work.

The awards are open to both primary and secondary students throughout the Avon River Basin. Winners receive a prize pack valued at $57 including two books – Birds of the Avon River Basin and the Ballardong Noongar Dictionary – and a ‘Certificate of Merit’ which can be presented at end-of-year celebrations.

The Moorditj Boodjar Environmental Awards for Students is open to up to 20 schools located in the Avon River Basin. Those schools wishing to take part can register at www.wheatbeltnrm.org.au/mba. Nominations close on Friday, 12 November 2021.
