Protect your New Seedlings

Healthy Environments

Give your new seedlings a better chance of survival by protecting them from marauding rabbits.

You may have a great selection of biodiverse seedlings ready to go in the ground, but feral rabbits will be lining up round the corner to munch on them.

Don’t panic! If you haven’t got your rabbit numbers under control yet it’s not too late.

Wheatbelt NRM can help design a feral control plan that looks after new plantings and suits your property. Plus, the plan can bring life back to the remnant vegetation on your land by helping protect and attract native birds and wildlife.

While you might think rabbit control difficult with so much green feed around, there are steps you can take over winter such as removing rubbish piles, fumigating and ripping warrens, and shooting. Then as the landscape starts drying up you can move on to baiting.
