Wheatbelt NRM Board inspired by community feedback

The Wheatbelt NRM Board has heard first hand from our Wheatbelt community about the benefits of our partnerships during a two day Board trip across the region.

Taking their quarterly Board meeting on a road trip for two days the Board met member groups, farmers and Aboriginal Elders and discussed how Wheatbelt NRM can help them achieve their goals.

What was evident was that in many cases the expertise and technical advice Wheatbelt NRM could provide was what was needed and developing a close ongoing relationship was invaluable.

Chair of the Wheatbelt NRM Board, Debra Rule said “It was so valuable to be able to visit the sites of our projects and meet some of the community members participating in them.”

The trip also meant the Board could spend some time together, outside the constraints of the formal meeting process, and many strategic discussions were held on the bus and out in the paddock.

Thank you to all the community members that made time for us to see them and share their work.
