19,000ha of carbon plantings in the Wheatbelt

Did you know that over the last few years 19,000 hectares of revegetation has occurred in the Wheatbelt as part of the carbon economy?

This is welcome information as other data collated for our NRM Dashboard indicates that our revegetation efforts are not keeping up with vegetation clearing approvals in the region.

We have been discussing with a couple of carbon entities about how this growing market can assist with achieving the strategic priority identified in the Regional NRM Plan to increase perennial vegetation and diversify land use.

But what is in it for you?

The voluntary carbon market allows private investors, governments, non-governmental organisations, and businesses to voluntarily purchase carbon offsets to offset their emissions.

Voluntary carbon offsets may earn you some complementary income as well as the benefit in accelerating your planned revegetation projects with minimal cost to you.

Generally, carbon plantings are fully paid for by the company and all work is carried out by the company. They might even pay you to do the site preparation.

Carbon plantings can save you money and get the work done quicker.

We are looking to collect a pool of interested landholders that may wish to consider this opportunity.

If this is you please register at the following link and we will contact you to talk through your plans.
