Aboriginal NRM

Tarkyn Narrier has joined Wheatbelt NRM as our new school-based trainee.

A Year 11 student at Northam Senior High School, Tarkyn will be completing training in Conservation and Land Management over the next two years as he finishes his schooling.

On his day a week placement with Wheatbelt NRM Tarkyn will work with the Noongar Budja Rangers to learn skills in chemical use, using equipment, tree planting and workplace health and safety.

A key priority of the Wheatbelt NRM Aboriginal NRM program is to develop economic opportunities for the Aboriginal community, specifically employment opportunities to work on country.

We will provide Tarkyn with support, experience and training to ensure that when he leaves school he has all the skills that a prospective employer is looking for.

Good luck Tarkyn with your studies.
