Regional Landcare Facilitator (RLF) Project

The Regional Landcare Facilitator (RLF) supports the Wheatbelt community to adopt sustainable land management practices and carry out Landcare projects. This position is a source of information, local knowledge and training for land managers and community members.


Throughout the year, the RLF coordinates workshops and events that share knowledge on new practices and environmental issues, and runs environmental events such as the annual BioBlitz survey. Community members and groups can also get advice on funding and resources for their activities by contacting the RLF, including field equipment loans.


The RLF works with:

  • local and regional Landcare groups
  • agricultural production groups
  • land managers
  • regional community leaders
  • community groups
  • Shires and State Government organisations
  • NRM networks
  • other NRM organisations


The Regional Landcare Facilitator position is supported by the Australian Government’s National Landcare Programme.  The RLF network extends across Australia, with a position in each of the 56 NRM regions.
