The Western Australian Agriculture Authority (WAAA) has contracted Rangelands NRM to implement awareness raising activities relating to the Royalties for Regions Carbon Farming Project. The project relates to all NRM regions in WA, and Rangelands NRM has entered into an agreement with each NRM region to provide delivery of the awareness raising activities in their respective NRM region. Wheatbelt NRM will deliver the carbon farming awareness raising activities in the Avon NRM region. This project will work with information primarily generated by the Department of Agriculture and Food, WA specifically for the project on carbon farming issues and opportunities in WA.

The project will involve:

  • Providing access to Information Packages developed by DAFWA
  • Establishment and monitoring of demonstration sites that include Carbon Farming Initiative activities
  • Conduct workshops and produce media articles 
  • Carbon monitoring of demonstration sites
